Beetroot (Beta Vulgaris) is the taproot portion of a beet plant. It is considered one of the superfoods. Nitrate present in beetroot helps in lowering high blood pressure. It also contains Vitamin C, A, B6, folate, magnesium, phosphorous, calcium, iron, thiamine, riboflavin, copper, and selenium in remarkable quantity. It can be consumed either raw, pickled, or cooked.
